#Question
1.How do I Add Icons & Logos?

Answer: Icons and Logos can be added in the For Owners > Franchise Setup - Customize. Icons will appear on the League Standings
Reports and Logs will appear on the owners Franchise Information
report.

To add an Icon or Logo you can choose one of the pre-defined icons, one of our new, high-resolution helmets, one of our classic helmets, create your own helmet or upload your own file to be used (note the uploaded file must be a GIF or JPEG and less than 400kB in size). If you choose to create your own helmet or logo you will need to create this logo. Once generated you will need to right click on the logo and then save it to your computer. You can then upload the image to your Icon/Logo.

Note: On the For Commissioner > Setup > Icons Setup the option for owners must be "As Specified by owners on Franchise Setup Page" chosen in order for the owners to add their own icons.

If your Image is Greater than 400kB
If your image is greater than 400kB then you will need to store this sound on your web server or a remote location that offers web space (note that most ISP's that offer free email also offer free web space). If you upload your image here you can then go to the For Owners > Franchise Setup - Customize and define the URL here.

3.I have an image greater than 400kb in size. How can I use it for my team logo?

Answer: You have a couple of options for this:

1. You can store the image on your own web site. Most ISPs that offer email offer free web space that you can upload your image to, or, you can use a site like VGY.ME

2. You can reduce the image size by scaling down the image to a smaller pixel count using image editing software.

3. You can reduce the image size by using a free tool that optimizes your image for you. You can search for tools like this using a Google search for image optimization.

4.I just uploaded a new image. Why do I still see the old one?

Answer: It's most likely an issue of your web browser caching (storing) the old image. In order to see the new one, you have to clear out your web browser's cache. You can either close/restart your web browser or reload the page via CTRL+F5 (hold down the CTRL key and press the F5 key).

6.My league icon is not appearing on my home page. What am I doing wrong?

Answer: To add an icon please go to your Franchise Setup > Franchise Setup - Customize and define your image under the "Franchise Icon" (as opposed to the franchise logo).

If your icon still does not appear, the cause of the problem could be one of the following:

  • You are over the 400KB maximum allotted size or you have a wrong file type.

  • The web site address (URL) for your image is incorrect.

  • The commissioner has defined in the Icon Setup to have either a predefined icon or chose "none". Please have the commissioner go to Setup > Icons Setup and allow the icon to be "Specified by Owner on Franchise Setup Page"

  • In your Standings Report the commissioner removed the option to display the Icon. Have your commissioner go to Setup > Standings Setup and add back one of the two columns that include the icons for your franchises.

  • You're using the "Brief League Standings" home page module on your league home page, which explicitly excludes icons, as opposed to the "League Standings" home page module, which can optionally include icons.

  • You defined a Franchise Logo instead of a Franchise Icon. Only franchise icons are displayed on the league standings report - franchise logos are not.

  • You created your own helmet and did not save it to your local computer. For Custom Helmets you need to read the hint that states you need to save the helmet to your local computer and Upload the Icon File.

7.Why are there two icon helmets for one or more franchises on my standings report?

Answer: On the Setup > Icons Setup screen you have most likely chosen to 'Use Franchise Icon instead of franchise name where possible on league pages'. Then in the Setup > Standings Setup screen you have defined your Standings report to use the "Icon & Name" column.

To fix this, go to the Icons Setup screen and revert the 'Use Franchise Icon instead of...' setting back to "No". Alternately, go to the Standings Setup screen and replace the "Icon & Name" column with the "Name" column.

8.How do I adjust the Size of my Icons on my Standings Report?

Answer: Commissioners can alter the Size of the Icons by going to the For Commissioner > Setup > Icons Setup. Here they can enter either the width or height of the standings icon.

Note: Only enter the width or height as adjusting both may skew the image.

9.How do I add an Icon (like the #1 sign) to the Standings?

Answer: Go to your For Commissioner > Setup > Icons Setup and you can use the Icon screen to choose one of the icons for the specific franchises.

If you do not want to remove the owner defined icon, but instead place it next to theirs, you must choose the option on the Icon Setup Page to: Allow both an owner-defined icon as well as a commissioner-defined icon on the standings report?

10.What is the difference between a franchise icon and the franchise logo?

Answer: The franchise "Icon" is the image that appears on your Standings report/module whereas the franchise "Logo" is the image that appears on the Franchise Information report. Typically icons are smaller in size than logos.

11.How do I use the Images & Other URLs Setup page?

Answer:

This screen allows the league to define a number of images and hyperlinks for the league web site.

League Home Page URL - Enter the address of a web page on another web server.  A link from the headline of all league pages will be created to this URL.  Your URL must start with the "http://" text.

League Logo URL - Either select one of our system league logos, generate your own custom, text-based logo, or enter the web address (URL) for your own league logo located on another web server.  You must use this option if you want to use a custom logo that is greater than 300 kb in size.  If you use this option, you need not use the "Upload Logo File" option below.  Your URL must start with the "http://" text.

Upload Logo File - If you want to use a custom league logo that's less than 200 kb in size and you have the image saved to your local computer, use this option to upload a copy of it to our system.  If you use this option, you need not use the "League Logo URL" option above.

Commissioner Message Board Avatar URL - Specify the web address to an existing avatar for the commissioner account which will be scaled to a 50x50 pixel size.  Your URL must start with the "http://" notation.

Upload Avatar File - If you have an existing image less than 300 kb in size, you can use this option to upload a copy to the system.  If you use this option, you need not use the "Commissioner Message Board Avatar URL" option above.

League Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) - Use this advanced-programming option to define a URL pointing to your custom-defined CSS file.  Your URL must start with the "http://" notation.  Also see CSS Feature Announcement

Upload League Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) - If you want to use a custom CSS file that's less than 300 kb in size, you can use this option to upload a copy of it to our system.  If you use this option, you need not use the "League Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)" option above.  Like the above setting, however, you must manually create your CSS codes.

Banner Image URL - Enter the web address (URL) for your own league logo located on another web server.  This image will appear directly above the league logo on all league pages.  Your URL must start with the "http://" text.

Banner Clickthrough Destination URL - This optional field requires that a Banner Image URL be defined in order to work.  When defined, a user can click on the Banner Image and be transported to the destination as defined by this address.  Your URL must start with the "http://" text.

When finished, you MUST click on the Save Appearance Information button in order to apply your changes.

12.How do I use the Icons Setup page?

Answer:

This screen allow the commissioner to define icons (icons appear on the Standings report) for any/all franchises.  If the franchise has already defined their own icon, the settings defined here will override those set at the franchise level.

For each franchise, the following options are available:

Specified by Owner on Franchise Setup Page - This default option allows each team owner the ability to use their own icon.

None - This option prevents an icon from appearing on the Standings report for the corresponding franchise.

<Selection from List> - These system icons can be used for the corresponding franchise.  Use the Icon Samples to see how each one will appear.

Enforce Icon Size - Define the width and height (in pixels) of all icons as they appear on the Standings page.  Use this to resize each franchises' owner-defined icon to conform to a common size when icons of varying sizes have been defined (causing an otherwise difficult-to-view appearance).

Use Franchise Icon Instead of Name - Some leagues prefer to use franchise images (which may graphically include the franchise's name).  Enable this option if your league works this way and prefer's to avoid using text-based names for franchise labels.

Allow for Owner-Defined and Commissioner-Defined Icons - Enable this option to allow for the commissioner to use one of the Icon Samples listed in this screen while still allowing the owner to display his/her custom icon.  This is most commonly used to display the playoff notation of x, y, and z to designate playoff teams that have clinched the playoffs.

When finished, you MUST click on the Save Franchise Icons button in order to apply your changes.
