UFFL Draft Masters League Constitution Last Update: June 14, 2018

1. Overview:

The UFFL Draft Masters League is two leagues in one, a draft masters league and a survivor challenge. The league consists of 14 teams. There are limited transactions and starting lineups are automatically set by the site to maximize your weekly score. It's the perfect league for those who just want to draft and sit back and watch the results without the in-season management.

2. Draft:

The 2018 draft will be conducted in two phases: a live draft and a slow draft.

2A. Live Draft:

The live draft will be conducted on Thursday, August 23 at 8:30 PM ET. The draft will be held in the league's live draft room. The draft will be 18 rounds and take approximately two hours to complete.

Owners will select their draft position after the initial dice roll/randomizer program conducted approx. two weeks before the draft. Each team will receive two dice rolls from a 100 sided dice. The numbers will be added and the team with the lowest number will be first on the draft order priority list, etc. The owner who is first on the draft order priority list has first choice of draft position, the owner who is sixth on the list has sixth choice, etc. Owners will have 96 hours after the draft priority list is published to e-mail the Commish their draft slot preference list. The Commish will conduct a dice roll after the 96 hours to determine draft order for owners who miss the suspense. The draft order will then be posted at the site. The first two rounds of the draft will be serpentine with a reverse serpentine starting at round 3 aka 3RS:

Round 1: 1-14
Round 2: 14-1
Round 3: 14-1
Round 4: 1-14
Round 5: 14-1
Round 6: 1-14
...

The draft timer is set at 90 sec (1.5 min). In the event an owner allows the timer limit to expire, the league software will immediately select the best player available using current average draft position data. (If you make out your draft list the system will pick from it first).

2B. Slow Draft:

The slow draft starts the following day, August 24 at 6:00 AM ET. The time limit between picks is 8 hours for rounds 19-20 and 6 hours for rounds 21-22. The draft timer will be suspended from 1 AM - 5 AM each day. The slow draft is 4 rounds. Don't forget to pre-draft, especially if there's a chance you're going to miss your pick.

2C. Trading Draft Picks:

Owners may trade draft picks on a one-to-one basis. Since the system does not allow owners to perform transactions, both owners will have to e-mail confirmation of the trade to the Commish. Draft picks may not be traded once the draft starts.

Owners must be able to field a starting lineup by the conclusion of the e-mail draft.

3. Rosters:

A team roster consists of the following players:

  • 22 players in any positional combination of QB, RB, WR, TE, PK, and Def.

Note: Player positions determined by MyFantasyLeague.com.

4. Starting Lineups:

A weekly starting lineup will consist of: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 PK, and 1 DT/ST.

The site will automatically select each team's starters in order to maximize their weekly score.

Note: Any stat changes issued by the NFL following completion of the games will be applied automatically by MFL.com. Stats changes are usually available by the following Thursday.

6. Standings:

Standings are determined by (in order) Total Points Scored, Overall Winning Percentage, and Head to Head Record. The Draft Masters Champion is the team with the most total points scored after week 17.

7. Survivor Rules:

The lowest scoring team is eliminated from the survivor challenge each week for the first nine (9) weeks. The highest scoring team receives amnesty for the next week and is safe from elimination. Scores reset each week. Once there are five teams left, there will be no more amnesty. For weeks 11 to the end of the season, one team will be lost every two weeks. If two teams should tie for low score, the tie will be broken by the top scoring bench player (not in lineup), regardless of position. The Survivor Champion is the team with the highest combined week 16 and week 17 score.

8. Transactions:

Owners can add/drop one player/defense after week 4 results are posted and after week 8 results are posted.

Owners will e-mail me a list of players/defenses, in order, they want added to their roster plus their drop. Any player/defense that is requested by more than one team in the same priority will not be added to a roster. For example, if two owners have Player A number 1 on their list, Player A will remain a free agent.

The order for week 4 free agency will be determined by dice roll. The order for week 8 is reverse order of week 4.

The deadline to e-mail your add/drop to the Commish is Thursday at 3:00 PM ET.

9. Governance:

9A. Commissioners' Duties:

The Commissioner is responsible for setting up the site, presiding over the draft, communicating with owners, interpreting bylaws, day to day operations, and site functionality. He will also be responsible for submitting support tickets to MFL for any league wide issues.

League Commissioner: David Torreano
League Treasurer: David Torreano

9. Owner Responsibilities:

Owners are expected to do everything within their power to run that team to the best of their ability. Any owner who can't do that, will be removed from the league. I know that may seem harsh, but I refuse to allow any owner to jeopardize the overall integrity of one of these leagues.

1) Be ready to draft when the draft starts. For the league with slow drafts, it is expected that each owner will make their picks as quickly as is humanly possible. Try to be considerate to your fellow owners by using the pre-draft feature if you’re going to be away from the computer.

2) Be respectful to your fellow owners. Avoid using any foul language on the league message board, chat room, or e-mail. While a certain level of smack talk is allowed and encouraged, insults, personal attacks, and inflammatory or taunting acts will not be tolerated. The Commissioner will have total authority in drawing the line between trash talking and the above mentioned acts. This will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply may result in IMMEDIATE EXPULSION WITHOUT REFUND.

10. Entry Fee:

League fee collections will be handled by David Torreano, the UFFL League Treasurer.

The entry fee for the 2018 season is $45.00 and due by August 7, 2018.

Owners may request an extension but no longer than one week. If fees are not received from a team by the deadline or extension, the Commissioner will officially begin to search for a new owner.

Payments can be sent via check/cash or via PayPal but if an online payment generates fees, the payment amount must cover both the full payment of the league fees PLUS any fees charged by the online payment service. Other payment arrangements may be possible, but must be coordinated with the league treasurer.
